After my recent trial of Pureology shampoo and conditioner, I decided to venture into the world of Kerastase with their Discipline Bain Fluidealiste Gentle (250ml) and Fondant Fluidealiste (200ml). This is the second bundle of luxury hair cleansing products I’ve purchased to try, and I was eager to see how they would compare.

First Impressions

Shampoo: My initial experience with the Kerastase shampoo was very positive. I was impressed by how little product I needed to use; a small amount lathered up incredibly well, providing a rich and luxurious feel. This efficiency is a big plus for anyone looking to make their products last longer.

Conditioner: The conditioner, on the other hand, surprised me with its thin consistency and I did feel like I need to use quite a bit. Initially, I was skeptical about its effectiveness, but it spread evenly through my hair, which was a pleasant surprise. Given my long, thick hair, I anticipate that I’ll go through at least two bottles of conditioner for every one bottle of shampoo.

The Drying Process

Today, I let my hair dry naturally due to time constraints. As it was drying, I wasn’t overly impressed; however, once fully dry and brushed through, my hair felt incredibly soft. This softness gives Kerastase a slight edge over Pureology in terms of texture.

Scent and Volume

While both Kerastase products smelled lovely during application, the scent didn’t linger as much once my hair was dry. My hair smelled clean but not particularly fragranced, which might be perfect for those who prefer a subtle scent. Personally, I enjoy a more perfumed finish, which is where Pureology has the upper hand.

In terms of volume and bounce, Pureology also takes the lead. However, the trade-off is the silky softness that Kerastase provides, which is hard to beat.

Final Thoughts

I’ll continue using both Kerastase and Pureology products for a while longer to see how they perform over time. It’s still too early to decide which will become a staple in my haircare routine or if I’ll explore other brands like Ouai and Olaplex next - both these brands are on my wish list of products to try.

Overall, my first foray into Kerastase has been promising, and I’m excited to see how my hair responds with continued use. If you’re looking for a product that delivers exceptional softness, Kerastase Discipline Bain Fluidealiste Gentle and Fondant Fluidealiste are definitely worth a try. I purchased the Kerastase bundle from Lookfantastic for £48.07 using one of their flash codes for money off.
